Unfortunately, in these strange, worrying & unprecedented times, we have very little on-field activity to report on this week and this will be the way for the coming few weeks. While our sides can continue to train in Derryleigh Park, we remind everyone of the importance of following all the health guidelines before, during and after visits to Derryleigh. We wish all our players, coaches, members, volunteers and supporters continued good health.

Covid-19 Level 3 Restrictions
Unfortunately, the recently announced Level 3 restrictions have a major impact on soccer and all sports in Ireland until the end of October, at the earliest. All amateur leagues & games are suspended but adult amateur and non-elite underage sides can continue to train as per the updated FAI Safer Return to Training Protocol. This means that all our underage & adult sides can continue to train under Covid-19 guidelines, which have been circulated to all team managers. The FAI will continue to monitor Government guidelines and will update this cessation order as required.

With the increasing numbers of positive Covid tests, it's more important now than ever, that the Covid questionnaire on the Club App is filled out by all parents/players before every training session. This is necessary to enable a contact tracing system if and when the need ever arises. Simple message is - No Covid Questionnaire completed means a player cannot attend training. All parents & junior players must download the Club App. Take care everyone and remain safe.

€20 for 2020 Euro Millions Syndicate Fundraiser
Due to Covid-19, the start date for the first Euro Millions draw of our €20 for 2020 fundraiser has been pushed back to allow people more time to purchase a ticket and become part of our syndicate. You can now securely enter our €20 for 2020 Club Fundraiser online via our website. It’s great value, as just one €20 ticket gains you multiple entries into different draws including; Entry to the Club Lotto for 2 months (8 weekly draws) and Membership of the NTAFC Euro Millions Lotto Syndicate for 12 months (104 draws). Tickets are also available in Kennedy’s Discount Store, Ryan’s Centra from Committee members, team managers and the usual sellers. The success of this fundraiser is essential for the club as our fundraising efforts have been severely hampered since the impact of Covid 19 in March.

Advertising Opportunities in Derryleigh Park:
We are now offering businesses & services the opportunity to advertise on customised signage prominently displayed on the astro-turf fencing in Derryleigh Park. With almost 30 teams in the club and close on 500 players, there is a high number of visitors to Derryleigh Park every week and this is a great opportunity to promote your business and at the same time, support our club. If you require details, please contact any committee member, e-mail secretary@newporttownafc.com or call 087 6504779
